Business Development Engineer - InterBulk Group

  

InterBulk is currently recruiting for the job of Business Development Engineer to be based in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

 

InterBulk Group is an AIM-Listed company providing international transport and logistics solutions for bulk products. InterBulk provides a range of intermodal tank containers capable of transporting materials (bulk or liquid) for a range of process industries. The main markets in which the company operates are chemical, petrochemicals, mineral and food.

 

The group's turnover for the year to September 2010 was £273m with an EBITDA of £23.5m. It operates with approximately 450 dedicated staff in 18 offices worldwide and seven terminals, with over 60 agents covering all major transportation hubs.

 

The company's liquid bulk division operates the third largest tank container fleet in the world, whilst the dry bulk division has Europe's largest fleet serving the polymer container (Bag-in-Box) market. InterBulk's combined fleet of 9,500 tank containers and 10,000 box containers are fully intermodal, achieving the cost effectiveness of standard containers when transporting loads by road, rail or sea.

 

The Technical function supports dry and liquid bulk transportation, with departments in both the Hull and Rotterdam offices. This role provides the opportunity to be based at one of these locations but to travel globally.

 

The Technical Department is responsible for the delivery of engineering and maintenance services to support the group business activities and consists of 35 people based in various locations globally.

 

The scope and variation in work provides daily challenges and we promote a proactive and responsive team culture to provide dynamic technical solutions to the business.

 

The Business Development Engineer role will be responsible for the control and management of the technical activity, the design, development and installation of equipment, global sourcing of services, setting and implementing procedures to comply with ISO and QHSSE standards. This role will require worldwide travel, sometimes at short notice.

 

The ideal candidate:

• Ideally have worked in bulk logistics
• Have at least four years experience of an/or a qualification in vehicle engineering and maintenance, electrics/electronics or hydraulics
• Have experience of project management from initial design to full implementation and be competent using AutoCAD
• Have experience of sourcing and supplier control/negotiation
• Be a strong team player with excellent communication skills
• Have a proven track record of initiating improvements within a business
